Titled 'New Snow', signed lower right front, a 1943 oil on canvas originally acquired by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (accession number 43.159.3) from Associated American Artists (original label verso) in 1943. Additional labels and provenance include Metropolitan Museum of Art inventory labels as well as the accession number painted in red both on the original museum frame and on the stretchers. This composition was published by Associated American Artists and Ernest Fiene as a lithograph in an edition of 250 pencil signed lithograph prints, and awarded 'First Purchase Prize' by the Library of Congress in 1946.
Canvas measures 26.5 x 36 with a frame of 35.25 x 45.5 inches.
Very good restored condition, re-lined, a number of small repaired punctures, in-painting equals 10% or less.
