135: A 19TH C. BRITISH HAND OPERATED HORSE RACE GAME
The maple-colored wood case with hinged lid, brass hook closures, well-crafted machined brass crank and winding mechanism, carved bone handle and apertures in the wood case front for the strings to glide through; once strung out, the riders race forward to the case when the mechanism is cranked, the top has the original chromolithograph print adhered, lead racehorses with riders and enamel paint, circa 1880.
Measures 3.5 x 7 x 3 inches.
Very good condition, noting minor chipping of the enamel on the racehorses, otherwise very clean and free from damage, repair or wear.
