255: A 19TH C. GRAND TOUR TRINKET BOX WITH MICROMOSAIC

A 19th century trinket or jewelry box, the hinged lid mounted with with glass tesserae tile depiction of a Roman scene in oval slate plaque, the side of the container mounted with enameled plaques, the whole raised on four stylized feet.
Measures 3 x 5.5 x 4 inches.
Very good condition, no damage or repair to the micromosaic portion, minor discoloration of the gold finish, minor misshapen areas along the front of the lower edge.
