115: A MASSIVE AMERICAN OAK PARLOR SET W/ HUGE GRIFFINS

A three-piece set in the manner of R.J. Horner (1886-1915), comprised of a sofa and pair of massive side chairs each having a highly carved flat rectangular crest featuring scrolling acanthus and blossoming vines flanking a carved beaded heart motif continuing to acanthus-carved down-sweeping arms terminating in massive, highly carved winged griffin supports which flank a rectangular padded brown velvet tufted upholstered back and tight bench seat, supported on a highly carved rail of conforming design raised on very large carved feet.
Couch measures 40.5 x 92 x 34.5 inches. Chair measures 40.5 x 34.5 x 38.5 inches.
Excellent condition throughout. No damage, repair, major restoration or repair, the highly appropriate upholstery is in excellent clean and seemingly unworn condition.
