171: TWO 19TH C RENAISSANCE REVIVAL CHAIRS ATTR JELLIFF

In the manner of John Jelliff (1813–1893) each having an arched crest with gilt incised highlights surmounted by a figural medallion with arched bonnet top and flanked by reticulated C-scroll carvings bound wheat and rosette corners, over a rectangular waisted button tufted back, the armchair having highly carved arm supports of bearded herms, both over bowed upholstered seats with gilt highlighted incised seat rails, and raised on baluster turned legs with gilt highlighted incised decoration and brass casters. Upholstered in champagne-colored blossoming rose and foliate pattern on a hot pink ground.
Measures 42 x 28.5 x 32 and 39.5 x 21 x 19.5 inches.
Excellent condition, fine and highly appropriate silk damask, there are no issues of damage, stain, repair or wear.
