182: A GOOD 19TH CEN AMERICAN OAK MARBLE TOP PEDESTAL

The square white veined inset marble top over a stepped and molded cornice with lobed carvings and null-carved frieze over a paneled case, each corner featuring a foliate carved engaged colonette with relief carving and stippled ground headed by capitals and foliate-carved corner blocks, the whole supported on a conforming carved stepped plinth base. A very handsome example.
Measures 36.5 x 20 x 20 inches.
Very good to fine condition, noting the subtle effects of age and use, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
