259: A 19C VICTORIAN CAST IRON BATTLE SCENE WALL SHIELD

A decorative shield covered with decorative elements and figures commemorating Attila Flagellum Dei also known as Attila The Hun, the ruler's bust is central to run-0n vignettes of battle scenes within ribbons and cartouches interspersed with masks and visages on the domed boss surrounded by a border of trailing vines, lion masks and squatting winged protector gargoyles, great soft 'polished' grey patina.
Measures 2.5 x 22 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage repair or heavy wear.
