79: A FINE 19TH CENTURY OAK CASE JEWELER'S REGULATOR
The long golden oak case with fleur des lis and half-scrolls surmount, molded crown over dentil molding and egg-and-dart trim above the hinged door with arched opening, fluted stiles and applied oak buttons, stick-and-ball lower bracket with side brackets and drop finials. Inside the paneled case is a pinwheel movement, nice shiny porcelain enamel dial with hand painted Roman numerals, sweep seconds hand, large pendulum on drop with nine thin rods and lyre form brass ornament, a nice example.
Measures 84 x 24 x 12 inches.
Very good intact running condition at the time of inspection, a minor faint network of spider web-like lines in the dial surface between the 9 and 10 positions, no other damage, repair or heavy wear. We cannot guarantee the running or timekeeping condition of timepieces once removed from the auction premises.
