76: AN IMPRESSIVE KIRK SMITH NAVAJO CONCHO BELT

A large traditional style sterling silver concho belt by Kirk Smith bearing his earlier hallmark. There are four scalloped conchos and five butterflies with deep repousse work and hand stamping backed by mahogany saddle leather and double copper keepers, the cabochons have pyrite inclusions and swirling black matrix but cannot be definitively identified.
Hallmarked 'KS', stamped 'Sterling.'
The belt measures 48 inches, buckle measures 5 inches, leather is 1.25 inches wide.
Good vintage condition with dark patina, noting one concho is slightly bent.
