2: A BOLD NAVAJO GANADO WOOL WEAVING CIRCA 1920

The outer black border and inner cream-colored border surround the grey field with central red ground crosses outlined in black and incorporating cream triangular shapes framing squares with lines top and bottom edged in black; down each side are are twelve cream colored geometric designs trimmed in black - eight of the designs are comprised of stepped and joined triangles representing the four sacred mountains of the Navajo and the four directions - north, south, east and west; the four smaller geometrics are triple triangles edged in black representing birth, youth, adulthood and old age.
Measures 67 x 43 inches.
Good condition, odor free with intact edges and ends, no major damage or repair, six small frayed holes visible when held up to light, minor scattered soil stains and color run, two corner tassels are missing.
