143: AN UNUSUAL CIRCA 1870s CAST IRON AND OAK STRONGBOX

The sheet metal trunk with hinged lid, thick oak slats that frame the exterior are riveted by hand with rose-head construction, heavy cast iron corners and hasp, forged iron handle each end, nice patina and handsome look overall.
Measures 15.5 x 15 x 26.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
