156: AN INTRICATE CHILD'S TWIG ROCKER IN GREEN WITH ORNAMENT

An unusual 19th century American bent and formed twig rocker intricately composed from natural twig with bark, covered in old, and likely original, green paint, the distinctively constructed example with interesting construction technique along the top back at the 'crest rail' and embellished overall with more than usual bent and formed twig weave, plus small roundels within looping twig design and incised carving below the seat.
Measures 30.5 x 16.25 x 24.5 inches.
Very good condition, noting wear, minor patterns of loss and darkening. There are no issues of damage or repair.
