218: CINNABAR FRAME PLAQUES WITH EXCEPTIONAL JADE CARVINGS

The four individual panels overlaid with outstanding jade carvings in the style and quality of 18th and 19th century examples, Each black ground lacquer panel in carved cinnabar lacquer frame set with a collection of fine carved jade plaques and pendants applied in high relief with and depicted on carved stands, largely openwork carvings of great quality and execution. Plus vases with flowers, or baskets of fruit comprised of amethyst, carnelian, jade, turquoise, rock crystal, quartz and other semi-precious cabochons and appliques. The cinnabar frame and lacquer panel of each is circa second half of the 20th century, the period of the jade carvings is not known.
Each measures 42.5 x 12.5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
