36: A PAIR LARGE CIRCA 1900 JAPANESE MUSEN ENAMEL VASES

Each of ovoid form on a short, splayed foot and rising to a narrow neck with everted mouth, decorated in wireless enamel with white egrets on a pale blue ground, stamped to the base with a manufacturer's logo of a symbol within the outline of a flaming tama (pearl of wisdom).

The maker's mark on the base is unidentified. The design of egrets is also one extensively used by Gonda and his followers.
Each measures 18 x 12 inches exclusive of the stands.
A number of bumps, hairlines and other issues.
