6: A GOOD 19TH CENTURY VENETIAN BLACKAMOOR ON PEDESTAL

The carved, gessoed and painted wood Venetian polychrome and parcel gilt blackamoor figure on elaborate pedestal; the upraised arm holds a tazza-like torch base, elaborate Venetian-decorated gown displaying stippled parcel gilt and polychrome decoration, the figure sits on is original six-sided faux red granite painted wood stand mounted with heraldic lions and festoon, four hairy paw feet. Circa early third quarter of the 19th century.
Measures 76 x 24 inches.
Very good condition, noting the absence of the flame finial or other elements missing from the upraised torch, some repaint of black enamels, no damage or repair.
