Entered active military service 2 November 1942, serving to 2 January 1945. Assigned as an anti-aircraft machine gun crewman. Qualified as Rifle Marksman and Pistol Sharpshooter. Participated in the assault and capture of Tarawa Atoll, Gilbert Islands, New Hebrides, Marshall Islands, and Saipan.
