Cpl. Joe P. Jaimes, USMCR, IIIrd Armored Amphibian Battalion, Pacific Theatre. Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, Occupation of Japan and Pistol Sharpshooter. Joe Jaimes was inducted into the USMCR on 1 August 1943. Following basic training, he was assigned to the First Armored Battalion and was shipped to the Pacific where he saw action on Eniwetok, Marshall Island 1-6 February 194 and on Pelieu, Palau Islands 15 Sept-15 Oct 194. He was transferred to the Co. C, IIIrd Armored Amphibian Battalion in July and engaged in actions on Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands 1 April-21 June 1945 and in the occupation of Japan. Joe was discharged on 27 January 1946.
