237: GENERAL EDWIN A. POLLOCK USMC UNIFORM, GUADALCANAL

General Edwin A. Pollock, USMC, 2nd Marine Division, Pacific Theatre. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and given command of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. Assigned to the 1st Marine Division on June 1942, he saw action on Guadalcanal during the Battle of the Tenaru at the end of August. For his actions, he was awarded the Navy Cross. He retired as a General on 1 November 1959.
