Lieutenant Colonel William A. Hamberg, 5th Armored Division. The extensive military record of this highly decorated 5th Armored Division Lieutenant Colonel including. Shadow box containing: Portrait photo; early pattern lt. Col. insignia, also WWII pattern rank insignia; 5th Armored Division SSI; Distinguished Service Cross; Silver Star with OLC; Bronze Star; Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal; American Defense Medal; American Campaign Medal; ETO Medal with arrowhead, one silver star, three bronze stars; WWII Victory Medal; Occupation Medal with Germany bar; National Service Medal; French Cross with star; and PUC with OLC; Named engraved Distinguished Service Cross, cased, also with DSC and BS ribbon bar; Silver Star with OLC, cased; Purple Heart, cased; 1.5-inch binder entitled Personal File, 1940-43 with military record; 0.75-inch binder entitled Personal File, 1944-45 containing: Five 8 x 10 portrait photos, Assorted military orders and letters.1-inch binder containing: Four 8 x 10 portrait photos; DD214; General order awarding him the Purple Heart; General order awarding him the Bronze Star; Citation for the Bronze Star; General order awarding him the Silver Star; General order awarding him OLC for the Silver Star, Citation for award of the DSC; Recommendation for the award of the DSC; Official order appointing him to the Army of the US; Special order ordering him to active duty; and Various training certificates. Promotion order to Major. Order awarding him the OLC to Silver Star. And two large format documents, promotion to 2nd Lieutenant in ROTC and promotion to Major in ROTC.
