216: AN EXCEPTIONAL BITTERSWEET AND GREEN CARVED CANDLE BOX

The fine example with four-tier slide lid having stepped design carved in relief with original green, bittersweet and mustard paint, dovetailed case with one-board base joined by wood pegs, lively and unusual paint combination, dedication in mustard script along one side with date of 1852.
Measures 8 x 12.5 x 8 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges and a scratches to the central diamond of the lid.
