271: A SPINNING IRON TARGET WITH PLAYING CARD SUITS C. 1900

An unusual configuration of star, spade, heart and diamond form hinged iron knockdown targets in old red and white park paint on blue disc manufactured by William F. Mangels Company, Coney Island, NY.

Pictured on page 18 (Figure 1.15) and in the Sandy Chanty Mangels Gallery (Figure 1.33) on page 25 of Sellers' book. Illustrated on page 5 of Mangels catalog 15 (gallery 43).

A complete set of card suits on original brackets with cotter pins is pictured on page 23 (Figure 1.29) of Seller's book.
Measures 24.25 x 24.75 inches, excluding stand.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, with the exception of a chip or casting porosity on one diamond form.
