188: WOOD FOUNDRY MOLDS FOR IRON SHOOTING GALLERY TARGETS

The three-dimensional carved wood molds for casting bird figural shooting gallery 'knockdown' target. The figures resemble targets produced by William Wurfflein of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pictured on page 124 of Sellers' book (Figures 8.29 and 8.30). This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Each measures 18 x 17.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges. Nice tone and patina overall.
