25: A UNIQUE C.W. PARKER SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET MOLD

The configuration of four squirrel figures cast and carved by hand from lead, for use in creating C.W. Parker shooting gallery targets. Having been modeled by hand, each squirrel varies slightly. An iron founder would have used this configuration as a mold to cast in iron four separate squirrel targets connected by sprues. The sprues would later be cut away leaving the figural targets for mounting. This same stylized squirrel target design is pictured on page 6 of Parker's Catalog of Shooting Galleries, Gallery No. 10. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Displayed on custom iron stand.
Measures 12.5 x 10 inches, excluding stand.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair.
$1,000 - $2,000
