279: A RARE WURFFLEIN ROOSTER TARGET WITH ANIMATED CHICK

The classic Wurfflein folk art iron rooster silhouette with central bullseye target and simple sheet metal depiction of a chick on spring-loaded mechanism. The extraordinary surface of this target is like a mosaic of tiny paint tiles accentuated by oxidation for a unique and rare patina. This target is signed in the casting back side as shown and and illustrated in Wurfflein's 1890 Price List.

Measures 15.5 x 12 inches, excluding stand.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear, the original spring is intact back side, the working condition is unknown, the patina is very good.
