15: C. 1820S VITALL NIGGL PORTICO CLOCK WITH CALENDAR

An Austrian portico clock with an unusual calendar function, the black base on alabaster button feet, four alabaster columns with ormolu trim and capitals support the arched top and circular clock case. A convex glass door over the brass and enamel dial with central decorative rosette within the thin porcelain enamel calendar ring having hand painted numerals 1 - 31, a brass ring on the dial with engine turned designs, the porcelain enamel outer dial with hand painted numerals and lettered name of 'Vitall Niggl in Salzburg', brass pendulum with embossed swirl and concentric designs. Measures 18.75 x 12 x 7 inches.
Very good running condition, gold cloth piping has been added to the case, the dial has a number of hairline cracks, minor edge chip in one spot and bits of unexplained lead solder at the edge of dial. We cannot guarantee the running condition of timepieces post sale following movement and shipping.
