180: A PAINT DECORATED WINDSOR YOUTH CHAIR SIGNED J. THAYER

The original mustard paint ground with stencil decoration and hand embellishments on the crest, green stripe on each stile and black pin striping overall, including the faux bamboo accents in the turnings, saddle seat and shaped foot rest. Signed J. Thayer in stamped block letters underside of the plank seat. Furniture maker Jesse Thayer worked in Athol, Massachusetts from 1813 to 1814.

Purchased from Haynes and Ruskin Antiques, having been in their personal collection for over 25 years.
Measures 36 x 16.5 x 17.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage, repair or heavy wear.
