136: AN EARLY 19TH C. NEW ENGLAND PAINTED BLANKET CHEST

The six board chest with rectangular lid framed in grooved molding over a square-nailed case on base with exuberant scroll-cut skirt and squared corner feet either side of the end cut-outs, iron lock and catch, original paint overall.
Measures 28 x 21.5 x 43.25 inches.
Very good to good condition, the hinges and lock have been re-set and or replaced, scattered wear and scuffs as expected, a long thin chip from the back right corner of the lid.
