131: A 19TH C. WEATHER VANE FIGURE OF THE TROTTER SMUGGLER

The full-bodied copper figure in detail of Smuggler, winner of the title 'Fastest Trotting Stallion in the US' in 1874, nice gilt surface with verdigris showing through, widely attributed to Harris & Company, displayed on iron stand.
Measures 19 x 32.5 x 3 inches.
Very good original condition with original gilding with verdigris showing on the high points and areas of wear, there are no issues of damage or repair.
