191: A RARE 'CHAPIN'S ATMOSPHERIC CHURN' IN ORIGINAL PAINT

Nathan Chapin of Cortlandville, New York was awarded a patent for his Atmospheric Churn in 1848, a twist on the box rotary churn, this exceptional example with black stenciling on the original blue paint, interesting interior mechanism, semi-circular sheet metal bottom, quality cast iron handle assembly.
Measures 16.5 x 23 x 19 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage, heavy wear or repair.
