232: AN UNUSUAL 62-INCH CORNER MOUNT BARBER POLE CIRCA 1890
The uncommon turned pine barber pole notched in such a way that allows for display on a building's corner, the gold ball shape finials on blue dome each end of the straight pole body with red, white and blue ribbon bands. A hand written notation inside the back side notch suggests the origin as Garret's Barber Shop, Prescott, Arkansas.
Measures 62 x 6 inches.
Very good condition, the old, painted surface displays alligatored surface, nice quality gilding of the type seen on a 19th century example, not canned gold paint. There are no issues of damage or repair.
