184: A 19TH C. ROCKING HORSE IN ORIGINAL DRY PAINTED SURFACE

The joined wood body gessoed and painted in detail with red mouth and nose detail black eyes and hooves, white body all in original paint with dry surface, original rosettes and leather ears, the original saddle with blanket remains, presumably the original horse hair tail, wood rockers and platform in original green paint with mustard decoration, circa 1870s.
Measures 28 x 50 x 10 inches.
Very good original condition, noting a twist to the rockers, break to one rocker, minor separations and losses as shown, no major damage, replacement or repair.
