9645: A SIBLEY IRON STOVE CIRCA 3RD QUARTER OF 19TH CENTURY

Th iconic conical shape with riveted iron top collar and upper door with riveted hinge. The Sibley design was patented in 1856 and is most associated with the Civil War. Provenance has it that this particular stove came from the estate of Richard Lea of Fort Collins, Colorado and was allegedly issued to the Camas Meadows Long Valley conflict with the Nez Perce Indians in 1877.
Measures 28.5 x 19 x 18 inches.
Good condition, noting pitting and oxidation overall.
