84: A 19TH C. FRENCH ROCKING SHIP MUSICAL AUTOMATON

A 19th C. French musical automaton depicting a rocking ship off the coast where a windmill turns as well. Key wind mechanism in the painted wood base, painted composition scene with figural elements, original painted background on the glass dome, two controls pull outward from one end to activate the music and motion. A paper label on the back glass dome suggests J. Phalibois as the maker. Measures 16 x 15 x 7.25 inches.
Good original working condition, noting considerable repair to the windmill blades and minor chipping to edges of the structures in that same area.
