10130: AN IRON AND WALNUT WATCH KEY ORGANIZER PAT DATED 1859

The circular cast iron dish-form base with divided compartments and conforming walnut top on central pivot with notch that corresponds to each interior compartment. The United States Patent Office has record of this invention listed as Letters Patent No. 83,695 dated 'Improved Receptacle for Watch-Keys and Other Articles' dated November 3, 1868. The cover has a notch for accessing the individual compartments which are numbered on the central cast iron ring with embossed lettering of HZ CRANE PAT NOV 3 1868. and walnut knob within a chapter of numerals.
Measures 3 x 7 inches.
Very good condition, noting a chip to the central handle. No other damage or repair, nice original patina.
