A pair of five-sided canvases on wood stretchers hinged in the center, blue and red abstract design, unsigned.

The artist's comments on this painting, 'I painted the ptg. in question in Topeka over the Thanksgiving or Christmas break then took it on the plane with me back to Indianapolis (the nearest airport). I thought using the 'piano hinge' was a very clever way of tying the two sections. BTW it can be hung either horizontally or vertically, it really makes no difference. In short there's no upside-down.'

Walter Hatke was born in Topeka, Kansas and his father operated an art supply store there for a time.
Measures 68.5 x 43.5 inches.
Very good condition, noting some thin craquelure lines of separation in the paint and separation of the frame at one point.
