126: A LARGE SWISS 12-TUNE CYLINDER BOX WITH 19-NOTE ORGAN

A deep box with rosewood and fruitwood looking veneers, line inlay, the lid inlaid with delicately executed design of musical instruments and florals with sheet music. The Mermod Freres mechanism includes a 15.5 inch cylinder with two combs on either side of 19 organ keys for operating the reed organ hidden deep in the wood case. Unusual accessories such as the reed organ in this music box are rare. The twelve songs this large box can play are listed on the original tune sheet mounted inside the lid. Overall case size measures 15.25 x 37.25 x 18 inches. This and all other music boxes in this collection have been in the Wagner family for more than 50 years.
Very good fully operational condition. The case is excellent without noticeable damage, repair or wear. Very clean and good.
