708: A 19TH C. PARCEL GILT BRONZE LYRE FORM CLOCK WITH PUTTI

The fine French time piece in the form of a gilt bronze lyre-form tower embellished with acanthus buds and other ornamentation, two figural faun-like cherubs in dark patina on either side, a white marble platform having molded edge trimmed in ormolu with rounded ends and trimmed in ormolu beading, raised on four toupie feet, the clock displayed in the lyre's center has porcelain enamel dial fronting a brass plate time and strike movement signed AD Mougin.
Measures 25 x 13 x 7 inches.
Very good intact running condition at the time of inspection. We cannot guarantee the running or timekeeping condition of timepieces once removed from the auction premises, the dial has a small area of damage and amateur repair at the 12 o'clock position and an edge chip at the 5 o'clock position.
