Signed lower right and dated 18, titled verso on the frame, a hand lettered paper card from the late 19th century labels this as being, 'Property of the Kansas State Art Association Topeka. Kansas (Public Library).'

According to library sources, Dora Rowley studied with George M. Stone, 'The Millet of the Prairies.' Stone was an extremely proficient artist active in Kansas during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He studied in Paris at Académie Julian under Lefebvre, Bonnât, and Boulanger. Later, he and Albert Reid founded an art academy that later became the art department of Washburn University.
Canvas measures 2 x , the frame is 29 x 37.25 inches.
Good condition, noting a patch verso on the upper right, blush across the lower quarter. There are no issues of in-painting, other damage or repair.
