The patinated spelter allegory of Science after Auguste Moreau holding aloft a suspension mechanism suspending a high quality nickel steel and brass gridiron with machined brass bezel enclosing a bronze-colored ball-shape case with brass Roman numeral appliques and ornate scrollwork hands, the base of the figure bears a circular seal for Fabrication Francaise Paris Made in France along with the incised facsimile of the artist's signature, the iron base is mounted with a brass plaque, circa 1890.
