The gouache and watercolor work on paper, signed lower right and dated 72 with information verso including the quote, 'Zanesville Art Center, First Place W/C.'
Bernard Stone won a Carnegie Institute scholarship right out of high school, he studied in Taos with Emil Bisttram and elsewhere before becoming an art therapist in Baltimore.
The town of Topeka has produced more than it's share of Art Therapy pioneers, not the least of which was Mary Huntoon who was a practitioner as early as the 1930s, probably earlier.
Sheet measures 18 x 24, no frame.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
