The fine example displaying an attractive design combining bold pattern elements and contrasting finely drawn stylized floral motifs in rich complementary colors, the red stepped field with a column of alternating blue and salmon pink stepped lozenge medallions, flanked on either side by stepped ivory half medallions all with scattered flower heads and flora forms, red border enclosing continuous small cruciform flower heads, rosettes, and hooked bracket vines between ivory guard stripes enclosing continuous angular vines issuing small flower heads, circa 1880.
Measures 153 x 44 inches.
Very good condition. Clean and odor free with intact edges and ends, good pile overall with some low areas and one area approximately 1.25 inches diameter void of pile and showing solid foundation.
