The lustrous wool on cotton carpet with soft red field having an all-over design with rows of flower heads and floral lozenges issuing short vines linking palmettes ending in leaves, within a strikingly attractive creamy saffron border enclosing continuous stepped palmettes linked by vines and plants, very soft floppy handle, circa 1900.
Measures 127 x 98 inches.
Good to very good condition. Clean and odor free with intact edges and ends, noting one gouge and edge wear, overall uneven wear resulting in visible foundation in patches overall, no damage, repair or stain.
