683: A 19C NAPOLEON III PARCEL GILT BRONZE AND MARBLE CLOCK

The very fine quality 19th century clock with guardian angel and child in gilt bronze atop a patinated craggy mound with gilt three-dimensional vegetation over the upright case of white marble with attractive subtle veining centered by a very refined porcelain enamel clock face with crisp Roman numeral chapter ring, delicate hands and winding holes for the time and strike brass plate movement marked A.1; the whole upon a heavy gilt bronze base with fine ormolu sheen and ornate designs of scrolls, shells and cabochons with detailed blossoms raised on toupie feet with embellishments.
Measures 18 x 1.5 4.5 inches.
It appears the case has an old repair upper right corner of the marble back. Very good intact running condition at the time of inspection. We cannot guarantee the running or timekeeping condition of timepieces once removed from the auction premises. The lens in the door is heavily abraded.
