397: A HIGHLY CARVED 19TH CENTURY HERALDIC THRONE CHAIR

The massive and highly carved walnut arm chair with eagle surmount over frieze of acanthus scrolls in bas relief over a tablet with knights and heraldic motifs, the massive arms terminating in detailed animal head upon massive paw supports, carved seat frame and legs, the back side further carved in similar themes and decoration, very good dark patina, circa 1890 - 1900.
Measures 53 x 26 x 22.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges, one age split as shown.
