619: SETH THOMAS OFFICE CALENDAR NO. 2 DOUBLE DIAL REGULATOR

The Empire influence rosewood case with ogee crown over rosewood veneer case with rounded frame moldings enclosing the original, unmolested painted zinc dial fronting a time only weight driven movement above the 31 day perpetual calendar mechanism and another original unmolested dial with cut-outs displaying the original paper-covered rotating block letter day and month, original label inside the door.
Measures 42.5 x 19 x 6.75 inches.
An untouched survivor. The only alteration detected is an apparent adjustment of the position of the lock's catch in the door and possible replacement of the glass keepers. The glass is rippled original. The case displays the effects of age but to a subtle degree. There are no serious veneer issues, the images show rubs on the front wood bezel that could easily have been hidden with stain. nice dark patina, apparently the original finish. Good intact running condition at the time of inspection. We cannot guarantee the running or timekeeping condition of timepieces once removed from the auction premises.
