The rolling block rifle with Eagle and stamped U. S. SPRINGFIELD 1870, stamped U.S on the butt plate, letter U on the barrel band, further stamped REMINGTON'S PATENT MAY 30 NOV 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1868. The wood stock is stamped A. & P. R.R. CO on one side of the walnut stock just behind the receiver for Atlantic & Pacific Railroad. A spent brass 50-70 caliber cartridge is included.
Good condition with dark gray patina on the receiver and mottled brown patina on the barrel, no ram rod, good bore with distinct rifling, original stocks with considerable light scattered dings, chips and dark patina, good tight action. A somewhat representative image of the bore is included.
