Presumably the type plate found on one of the hundreds of carts made for Wells Fargo by Whitman Agricultural Co., founded in St. Louis, Missouri in the 1870s.
Measures 8.5 x 12.5 x 0.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or excessive wear.
