34: AN EARLY 20TH C. FOLK ART FRETWORK LOCOMOTIVE CLOCK

The mahogany fretwork cab is set with clock works and dial with carved bone hands and applied Roman numeral chapter ring along with removable domed tin top and hinged back doors, the tin boiler with brass straps is embellished with a headlight and stacks on fretwork bases with a bell that sounds upon the operation of the time and strike movement, maple fretwork undercarriage and wheels in 4-4-2 configuration, maple cow catcher. Nearly identical examples with all of the very same characteristics have been found signed Signed S. Eugene Snyder Taxidermist, Jemley PA.
Measures 15 x 26 x 9.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear, noting loss of the numeral 5. The working condition of the clock movement is not known.
