The rare pair of late 17th century oak arm chairs of the ''os de mouton'' style which refers to the flowing shape of the arms and lower frame that are somehow reminiscent of sheep bones, spelled os de mouton in French, the contemporary coverings are over crewel work upholstery as shown.
Each measures 48 x 22 x 32, seat heights 17 inches.
Very good condition, there are no issues of damage, repair, stain or odor.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
