51: A LOUIS XV PERIOD HEAVILY CARVED FRENCH WALNUT LAVABO

The French Louis XV period pewter lavabo on walnut stand from the 18th century having a large pierce carved rocaille atop the back board joining the oval stand with serpentine apron carved on three sides, four cabriole legs with carving at the knee, pewter cistern and bowl. A matching waste stand with pewter basin and identical carvings on the feet as well as matching pegged construction is nested below. Both have nice, dark, warm, original patina.
Measures 77 x 24 x 22 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, expected wear at some edges. An old solder repair to the middle pewter basin.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
